Tagging System for Group Distribution

This page gives an overview about the Tagging System for Group Distribution in Pitcher Admin. Pitcher's tagging system for groups has been updated and is more intuitive now. The system suggests tags based on existing groups (google style keyword search) so if you type "a" and you have existing groups "abc", "abcd" or any tag containing the letter "a" it will suggest these tags for you.

Tagging for Group Distribution

If you have distribution groups such as "german", "french" or "italian" then you can use all three groups separately in order to have the reps in the German-speaking region only receive the German content, the reps in the French-speaking region only the French content etc. To do this follow these steps:

  • Tag the corresponding devices with german, french or italian (also one device can be tagged with multiple keywords, e.g. french, italian)

  • Upload German, French and Italian content.

  • Distribute German content to group: german, French to group: french, Italian to group: italian.

IMPORTANT: If you have a group ABC one and ABC two, then create a new one called ABC, ABC one and ABC two will get all the content from ABC but ABC will not automatically get the content from ABC one. This rule is not case sensitive meaning there is no difference in the previous example if the tag is written ABC, aBC, abC, abc, etc. Please work with unique tags for each group, e.g. ABC, DEF, GHI. If a device should get content from various groups, simply add multiple tags to the device.

CAREFUL: When changing a tag make sure you adhere to the best practice example: 1) Add the new tag to one user in order to create the new tag 2) Re-Distribute the content from the old tag to the new tag (IT IS CRUCIAL THAT YOU DE-SELECT THE OLD GROUP AND SELECT THE NEW) 3) Remove the old tag from all users to make it disappear -> You need to make sure there is no file distributed to the old tag before you remove it because you will not see it anymore afterwards!
